This five-passenger compact wagon debuts for 2006 and is named for its "Heritage High Roof" styling inspired by early 1950s Chevrolet Suburbans. HHR has front-wheel drive, and shares a basic platform with Chevys Cobalt. HHR offers LS and LT models. A 143-hp 4-cyl engine is standard. A 172-hp 4-cyl is an LT option. Both engines are available with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic. Included with the automatic is remote engine start. All HHRs have air conditioning, power windows/locks/mirrors, remote entry, split folding rear seat, and fold-flat front-passenger seat. LT adds a power driver seat and specific trim. An available 2LT package includes the 172-hp engine and sport suspension. Antilock brakes are optional and include traction control when ordered with automatic transmission. Curtain side airbags and OnStar assistance are available.
